- How COAX helps charity communicate wellRF cable assemblies supplied by COAX are currently en-route to Senegal as part of a project to build an ambulance for the village of Darou Fall. Nico van Stiphout, volunteer on the project explains more."Fieke and Nico van Stiphout have taken on the project to build an Ambulance for the Village of Darou Fall in Senegal. When this car is ready we will drive the car to Senegal. The project started with the Initiative of my colleague Modou Ba, currently working in Germany, but born in Darou Fall. Modou, with his Charity; Partnerschaft West Afrika, have worked on many projects like building primary and mid-level schools in the village Modou grew up in.Over the last few years Modou has made a great effort of building a hospital in Darou Fall. This Hospital is now the medical service for the Diogo Medical district. However they did not have an Ambulance. Via a donation from the Molex Charity walk, Modou had the finances to buy a 4 wheel drive vehicle. That was the moment we teamed up with hiCase Studies September 10, 2016
- The Strongest LinkWhen one of the UK’s top outdoor cameramen was commissioned to shoot broadcast quality video of a forthcoming ascent of Mount Everest he knew he had a real technical challenge on his hands. The plan was to equip three Sherpas with head mounted cameras that would enable them to record and transmit their assent in real time. Live film was to be transmitted, via a microwave link, to the editing suite located in a tent several thousand feet below. All the equipment had to be totally reliable, there would be only one chance to film this action, re-tracing their steps to re-shoot, should a failure occur, was out of the question. The severe operating conditions normally encountered at 29,000 feet on Mount Everest could quickly lead to signal failure unless interconnecting cable and connectors were carefully chosen. Being known for their flexible and creative approach to problem solving in support of the broadcast industry, an urgent call to COAX Connectors was made.Peter Roberts, Business DCase Studies September 10, 2016
- 'New' 0.4/2.5 connector seriesWith the ever increasing demand for greater bandwidth in all forms of broadcast media, there comes a time when existing components are simply unable meet the demands. This situation occurred when a leading TV equipment manufacturer needed to connect between PCBs inside a new High Definition camera. The requirement was for a micro-miniature True 75 ohm ‘board to board’ and ‘board to cable’ interconnect system, no standard product existed that would meet the challenging RF performance and available space constraints. Being known for their strong and creative presence in this market, COAX Connectors were approached with a request to develop a solution.COAX Connectors solution was to create the smallest ever True 75 ohm interface, the 0.4/2.5 series. The surface mounted plug and jack allow PCBs to be spaced 8mm between surfaces and a right angle cable jack with a mated height of only 10mm make up the series. PCB connectors can be supplied in tape and reel or loose and the cable conneCase Studies September 10, 2016
