What Is FTTH Drop Cable?​​​​​​​


FTTH fiber optic drop cables are laid out at the user's end and used to connect the terminal of the backbone optical cable to the user's building or house. It is characterized by small size, low fiber count, and a support span of about 80m. It is common for overhead and pipeline construction, and it is not common for underground or buried installation.

There are mainly indoor and outdoor optical fiber drop cables. The most common outdoor drop cable has a mini flat figure-8 structure; the most common indoor one is two parallel steel wires or FRP reinforcements, with an optical fiber in the middle.

 How to produce FTTH flat optical fiber drop cable

 

 

FTTH drop cables, as previously mentioned, are located on the subscriber end to connect the terminal of a distribution cable to a subscriber’s premises. They are typically small diameter, low fiber count cables with limited unsupported span lengths, which can be installed aerially, underground, or buried. As it is used outdoor, drop cable shall have a minimum pull strength of 1335 Newtons according to the industry standard. Fiber optic drop cables are available in many different types. The three most commonly used fiber drop cables include flat drop cable, figure-8 aerial drop cable, and round drop cable.

Flat Type Drop Cable

 

 

 
Flat drop cable, with a flat out-looking, usually consists of a polyethylene jacket, several fibers, and two dielectric strength members to give high crush resistance. Fiber drop cable usually contains one or two fibers. However, drop cables with fiber counts up to 12 or more are available now. The following picture shows the cross-section of a flat drop cable with two fibers.

Figure-8 aerial drop cable is a self-supporting cable, with the cable fixed to a steel wire, designed for easy and economical aerial installation for outdoor applications. This fiber drop cable is selected to a steel wire, as shown in the following picture. Typical fiber counts of figure-8 drop cable are 2 to 48. Tensile load is typically 6000 Newtons.

For new customers, usually do 30% advantage payment and balance T/T & L/C involve cable at sight & D/P at sight before shipping.
For long time cooperation, we also do L/C in 30 days,in 60 days, in 90 days, and also O/A. Because our company VIP of China Express & import insurance company. Details need to confirm with the sales manager who service you.

Do you accept OEM customization?

Ocean freight charges are typically determined by the freight forwarder. You have the option of using our freight forwarder to arrange delivery or selecting your own freight forwarder.

How does your company provide after-sales service?

After goods arrive in customers’ hands, if the customer finds the goods’ quality totally can not accept. 1st step, show photos to us. And send back the samples to us. And we will also check the samples which we left some photos of during production. To compare and figure out if the quality really has a quality problem or not. Once the result is the same as customers complain, will start up negotiation of compensation until customers satisfy with the solution.
And we will note this issue quality problem and avoid it happening in next future orders.
