 CAT7 Cable

 CAT7A Cable

What is CAT 7 ethernet cable and CAT 7A ethernet cable ?

Cat7 (Category 7) and Cat7A (Category 7A) cables are high-performance Ethernet cables used in the cabling infrastructure of Gigabit Ethernet. They are specifically designed with stringent specifications for reducing crosstalk and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).

What are CAT 7 or CAT 7A used for?

Cat7 and Cat7A cables are high-end network cables primarily used in various settings for their superior performance characteristics. Here's a breakdown of their common uses:

Ethernet Cabling in Gigabit Ethernet Setups:
Cat7 cables are often used as patch cables in wired Gigabit Ethernet networks. They are integral to the core infrastructure, ensuring highspeed and reliable data transmission.
Connection of Devices in Networks:
Both Cat7 and Cat7A cables are used to connect a variety of devices like modems, routers, hubs, and computers in networks of all sizes, from small home networks to extensive commercial setups.
Commercial and Industrial Applications:
Cat7 cables are designed to withstand harsh conditions. They are suitable for environments with extreme temperatures, exposure to UV rays or moisture, and direct contact with chemicals and oils. This makes them ideal for industrial settings where cable durability and performance are crucial.
Domestic Applications:
These cables have gained popularity in home networks, particularly for high-speed internet and enthusiast gaming setups. Their high bandwidth and reduced crosstalk make them a
preferred choice for demanding domestic applications like streaming high-definition content, online gaming, and connecting multiple smart home devices.
LAN (Local Area Network) Cable Networks:
In both commercial and domestic settings, Cat7 and Cat7A cables are extensively used in LAN setups. They provide the necessary speed and reliability for efficient network performance, essential in environments with high data transfer demands.

CAT7 cable and CAT 7a cable Speed

Cat7 Cable:
Speed and Performance:

Supports data transmission speeds up to 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps) over 100 meters. In some tests, speeds up to 40 Gbps or 100 Gbps over shorter distances have been achieved.
Bandwidth:

Offers a bandwidth of up to 600 MHz, significantly higher than previous cable categories.

Cat7A Cable:
Enhanced Features:

Cat7A cables provide an extended bandwidth of up to 1000 MHz, offering even greater performance than Cat7.
Improved Crosstalk Reduction:

They are designed for even more stringent crosstalk and EMI protection, making them suitable for environments with heavy interference.

Specification/ Construction of CAT 7 cable or CAT 7A cable

●22-23 AWG solid Copper
●Individually shielded pairs as well as an overall cable shield by AL/PET Foil to protect the signals from crosstalk and EMI.
●Braiding shielded overall the cable to protect the signals from crosstalk and EMI.
Cable jacket:
We can do PVC (UL CM,UL CMR, FT4), PE, and LSZH jacket for customers

Reference Standard and Certificates for CAT7 and CAT7A cable

●ISO/IEC 11801-1 Ed.1.0 | ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 |
ANSI/TIA-568.2-D | IEC60332-1 | EN50399

●UL/ETL/CPR/CE/DELTA/RoHS/REACH/

ISO9001/ANATEL/SABS

Connectors for CAT7 and CAT7A cable

RJ45 connector:

Cat7 and Cat7A cable is commonly terminated using a GG45 connector, which is backwards compatiblew ith the RJ45 connectors (8p8c) used on Cat6 or Cat5e cable.
GG45:

The GG45 connector has four additional conductors that provide support for frequencies of up to 600 MHz and 1200MHz.
TERA:

Cat7 and Cat7A cable may also be terminated using TERA connectors, which have a unique footprint and is not compatible with a standard RJ45 (8p8c) connector. The TERA connector is also capable of supporting frequencies of up to 600 MHz of CAT7 and up to 1200 MHz of CAT7A.

Packing for CAT7 and CAT7A cable

In order to better protect the electrical properties of Category 7 network cable, generally do not use the flower roll hollow drawer box, but with a plastic spool or wooden spool packaging, the length can be customized, the market is dominated by 100m/300m/500m carton/plastic/wooden spool packaging.

Mainly testing equipment for CAT 6A

1) Fluke: DSX2-8000,DSX2-5000,DTX-1800
Link LINKED testing:

This is to place the complete integrated cabling system into the testing equipment for testing, in which the entire integrated cabling system means link.
Channel CHANEL testing:

A single integrated cabling product is placed into the testing equipment. Most of the channels involved are related to the testing of cables,it means testing the cable monomer's performance indicators such as throughput, attenuation, signal-to-noise ratio, and crosstalk. The testing of links has more practical significance than the testing of channels.

2) Network Analyzers

Can directly and accurately test 100M, 305M, and other different lengths, with test requirements higher than the FLUKE test.

How to select cat6a cable?

When selecting the best Cat6a cable for 10GBASE-T networks, consider the following key factors:

Size and Weight:

Cat6a cables are larger and heavier than Cat6, affecting how many cables can fit in a cable tray or conduit. Newer versions are slightly smaller, about 15% larger than Cat6.
Bend Radius:

The larger diameter of Cat6a cables requires a greater bend radius, important for routing in tight spaces and ensuring efficient airflow in racks.
Installation Complexity:

Cat6a's thicker materials and design can make installation more timeconsuming compared to thinner cables.
EMI Shielding:

The effectiveness of shielding depends on the quality of shield termination and grounding. Some designs offer electromagnetic barriers without grounding drawbacks.
Network Infrastructure Considerations:

Assess the overall network setup, including building ownership, primary network usage, and potential future changes.

Choose a Cat6a cable that balances these factors to ensure a robust and future-proof 10 gigabit Ethernet network infrastructure.
