GDTA Hybrid Optical Fiber and Electrical Cable APL Armored for Distributed Base Station
Hybrid optical cables combine both single-mode or multimode fibers and electrical conductors, making them ideal for various applications where optical and electrical transmission need to coexist in one cable. The design consists of fibers housed in loose tubes made of high-modulus plastic, filled with a tube-filling compound. A metallic strength member is placed at the center of the cable, and the tubes and copper wires are stranded around it to form the cable core. The core is filled with a cable-filling compound and armored with aluminum tapes, ensuring strength and durability. Finally, a PE outer sheath is extruded to protect the internal components.
