What Is a CAT6A Shielded Field Termination Plug?
ZC-603S-1-C6A-B1 is a CAT6A shielded field termination plug for structured cabling. This field-terminable RJ45 connector lets a fixed cable connect directly to equipment when a factory-molded patch cord or intermediate outlet is not suitable for the installation.
As a CAT6A shielded toolless RJ45 plug, the connector combines a zinc-alloy shield body, new PC plastic components, a guided wire manager, phosphor-bronze RJ45 contacts with 3 microinch gold plating, and phosphor-bronze terminal pins with zinc plating. The closure design seats prepared conductors without a dedicated punch-down tool.
Product Construction
Key Benefits
No dedicated punch-down tool is required to seat the prepared conductors.
Specified for solid and stranded 22 AWG, 23 AWG, and 24 AWG cable.
The zinc-alloy body supports mechanical protection and shielding continuity.
The internal insert organizes conductor order before the final closure.
Rated for at least 750 RJ45 mating cycles and 250 IDC termination cycles.
Specified as compliant with RoHS and REACH requirements.
Toolless Termination Workflow
Use the project wiring scheme and the cable manufacturer’s preparation requirements. Keep pair untwist controlled, trim conductors cleanly, and prepare the cable shield so it can make the intended contact with the connector body.
Strip approximately 20 mm of the outer jacket and prepare the shield.
Arrange conductors in the wire manager according to the selected T568 scheme.
Cut conductor ends flush and seat the loaded manager in the plug body.
Press the metal side housings until the termination is fully secured.
Applications
The plug is intended for direct-to-device CAT6A links and modular plug terminated link (MPTL) installations where cable routing or installation length must be completed on site. Typical applications include wireless access points, IP cameras, network cabinets, switches, controllers, surveillance systems, and connected industrial equipment.
This CAT6A field plug is best suited to fixed cable runs that require a shielded equipment connection at the installation point. For frequently moved patching, use a suitable factory-terminated patch cord.

Frequently Asked Questions
What conductor sizes does ZC-603S-1-C6A-B1 support?
It supports 22 AWG, 23 AWG, and 24 AWG solid or stranded conductors. Insulation diameter and overall cable diameter should also be confirmed before ordering.
Does a toolless RJ45 plug require no tools at all?
Toolless means no dedicated punch-down tool is required. Cable stripping and conductor trimming tools are still needed for preparation.
Is the plug suitable for shielded CAT6A cabling?
Yes. The zinc-alloy shield body is intended for FTP cabling. Correct shield preparation and bonding are required for system performance.
What is a CAT6A field termination plug used for?
A CAT6A field termination plug is used for direct-to-device and modular plug terminated link (MPTL) connections, including wireless access points, IP cameras, switches, and controllers.
What information should be included in an RFQ?
