GYTS-1 Optical Fiber Cable PSP Armored Stranded Loose Tube Duct Installation

PDF download

In the GYTS cable, single-mode/multimode fibers are positioned in the loose tubes, which are made of high-modulus plastic materials, while the loose tubes strand together around metallic central strength members into a compact and circular cable core.
For certain high fiber count cables, the strength member would be covered with polyethylene (PE). The water-blocking materials are distributed into interstices of the cable core, and the PSP is longitudinally applied around the cable core before a PE sheath is extruded over it.

  • Loose Tube: thermoplastic material, containing optical fibers and filled with gel.

  • Central Strength Member(CSM): phosphate steel wire.

  • Armor: corrugated steel tape.

  • Longitudinal Water Blocking Material: Water-blocking tape.

  • Cable Filling Compound

  • Outer Sheath: black polyethylene.

 Features:

Excellent mechanical and temperature performance is guaranteed by the accurate excess fiber length

Critical protection to fibers, based on the excellent hydrolysis resistance and strength performance of tube material and special filling compound filled in the tube

Excellent crush resistance and flexibility

Excellent ultraviolet prevention with PE sheath

The following measures are taken to ensure the water-blocking performance of the cable:

- Single steel wire used as the central strength member

- Special water-blocking filling compound in the loose tube

- 100% cable core filling

- PSP moisture barrier

 Technical Characteristics:

Fiber Count

  • The cables can accommodate fiber counts ranging from 2 to 144 fibers, with different configurations for tubes and fillers.

Tubes + Fillers

  • The number of tubes varies from 5 for smaller fiber counts (2–30 fibers) to 12 for larger fiber counts (122–144 fibers).

Max. No. of Fibers in Tube

  • Each tube can hold up to 6 fibers for smaller counts (2–36 fibers) and 12 fibers for larger counts (38–144 fibers).

Cable Diameter

  • The diameter of the cable varies from 9.8 mm for 2–30 fibers, reaching up to 15.8 mm for 98–144 fibers.

Cable Weight

  • The weight of the cables increases with fiber count, starting at 600 kg/km for smaller cables and going up to 2500 kg/km for cables with the highest fiber counts.

Tensile Strength:

  • Long Term: 600–2500 N depending on the fiber count.

  • Short Term: 1500–1000 N, again varying by fiber count.

Crush Resistance:

  • Long Term: 300–2500 N/100 mm.

  • Short Term: 1000–300 N/100 mm.
